چکیده

The goal for most speech enhancement techniques is to improve speech quality by increasing intelligibility and/or reducing listener fatigue. The Multi-microphone Sub-band Adaptive (MMSBA) processing scheme has been shown to improve both the SNR and speech intelligibility of a wanted speech source in the presence of an unwanted noise source, in a moderately reverberant real-room environment using two microphones [1]. The proposed Sub-band Adaptive Griffiths-Jim (SBAGJ) processing scheme uses features from the Griffiths-Jim [2] adaptive noise canceller, in conjunction with the MMSBA scheme. The combination of the Griffiths-Jim front end, and the MMSBA noise cancelling section results in a system with the improved filter performance of a sub-band processing scheme, but bypasses the need to explicitly deal with the causality issues associated with many adaptive noise cancellation algorithms.

Novel Sub-band Adaptive Systems Incorporating Wiener Filtering for Binaural Speech Enhancement

In this paper, new Wiener filtering based binaural sub-band schemes are proposed for adaptive speech-enhancement. The proposed architectures combine a Multi-Microphone Sub-band Adaptive (MMSBA) system with Wiener filtering in order to further reduce the in-coherent noise components resulting from application of conventional MMSBA noise cancellers. A human cochlear model resulting in a non-linea...

New Hybrid Sub - band Speech Enhancement Systems incorporating Neural Networks and post - Weiner Filtering

In this paper, two new hybrid sub-band systems are proposed which aim to combine neural network sub-band processing with post-Wiener filtering for adaptive speech-enhancement processing of noisy signals. The proposed hybrid architectures comprise an early auditory-processing modelling inspired Multi-Microphone Sub-band Adaptive (MMSBA) system incorporating neural-network based non-linear sub-ba...

A new metric for selecting sub-band processing in adaptive speech enhancement systems

A multi-microphone adaptive speech enhancement system employing diverse sub-band processing is presented. A new robust metric is developed, which is capable of real-time implementation, in order to automatically select the best form of processing within each sub-band. It is based on an adaptively estimated inter-channel Magnitude Squared Coherence (MSC) relationship, which is used to detect the...

Combined acoustic echo and noise reduction using GSVD-based optimal filtering

This paper describes two schemes for combining acoustic echo and noise reduction using a GSVD-based optimal filtering technique. The GSVD-based filtering technique is a signal enhancement technique which has recently been proposed for noise reduction in multi-microphone speech signals. In many speech communication applications however also a far-end echo source is present. Therefore a combined ...
